Nigeria has confirmed carrying out precision airstrikes against two Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist enclaves in Sokoto State in close coordination with the United States. Information Minister Mohammed Idris said the strikes targeted foreign ISIS elements infiltrating from the Sahel and were approved by President Bola Tinubu. Authorities stressed no civilian casualties were reported and said the government remains firmly in control of national security amid ongoing counterterrorism operations.
