The era of coupon-clipping is over.
Smart shoppers everywhere are catching on to a smartphone app that offers cash back — even for grocery items already purchased, Food & Wine has reported.
The Aisle app, first released in 2021, offers discounts on grocery and personal care products at major grocery stores, which could range from buy-one-get-one-free deals to specific dollar savings or even full refunds on certain products.
Customers will receive cash back based on the deals they choose after grocery shopping and submitting their receipt.
Once the app is downloaded, you can search for your favorite grocery store location to browse the available deals and claim any you think could be useful.
Aisle’s offers often feature products from independent brands, such as Hopwtr drinks or nut butter-filled dates from Realsy.
Private label store brands like Trader Joe’s won’t be available, but major chains such as Whole Foods, Wegmans, Target, Kroger, Walmart, Key Foods and 7-Eleven all offer discounts through Aisle.
There may even be deals for higher-priced condiments, like the chili crunch oil from Momofuku Goods.
Taking this route might require a little more planning prior to grocery shopping and being more flexible with brand names.
Some discounts may change as you continue to use them multiple times, and offers can vary between grocery chains and store locations.
After your desired deals are claimed, go to the chosen store, buy the relevant products and make sure you keep the receipt. Take a picture of the receipt and send it to the automated text chain that Aisle starts.
Aisle is a great option for when you want to try something new rather than a staple — so you don’t feel like you’re wasting money on a product you’re unsure if you like.
Users will need a Venmo account registered with the same phone number used on the Aisle app, and it may take between 24 and 72 hours for the refund to come through.
Right now, the app is only available for iPhone users, but Android users can use Aisle through the website.
