It’s time to boogie!
The parent lifestyle brand behind the viral breast milk-flavored ice cream is back with another odd, sweet treat.
On Monday, Oct. 27, Frida launched Boogie Bites Candy — booger-inspired candy that’s said to resemble “the real thing.”
Just in time for “Booger Season” — or rather, cold and flu season — the brand is “giving you a whole new [less gross] way to eat your boogers.”
Frida’s “snot season” special launched in a bid to promote their nasal aspirator, NoseFrida, that parents can use to remove nasal congestion in babies and young children.
And though little kids are typically the ones to put boogers in their mouths, the gummies will give “parents permission to feed their inner child” as well as give their kids a germ-free — and tastier — alternative.
“Boogers are gross, but Frida knows the grossest moments are the most universal,” the product description read.
The sweet and sour gummies come in three shapes and sizes and were “crafted with the input of actual booger eaters,” the brand said.
While they’re inspired by the real thing, Boogie Bites are not made with actual boogers. The ingredient list includes tapioca syrup, cane sugar, distilled water, pectin, ascorbic acid, citric acid, natural flavor, turmeric (color), spirulina extract (color), salt, and fruit and vegetable juice (color).
Frida’s Boogie Bites Candy are slightly sweet, a little salty and packed with Vitamin C and are available exclusively on Gopuff, the consumer goods delivery service, for just $3.99.
The edible boogers will be available for customers in New York City, Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago, Miami, Dallas, Boston and Philadelphia.
Frida made headlines earlier this year when it released its Breast Milk Ice Cream, which was said to be a “pitch-perfect representation of the sweet, creamy, nutrient-packed goodness” of breast milk.
The ice cream allegedly tastes sweet and nutty with a hint of salt and is fortified with the same nutrients found in breast milk, including Omega-3 fats, carbs and energy-boosting lactose, as well as vitamins such as iron, calcium, Vitamin B and D, and zinc.
