Earning credit card rewards as a business owner doesn’t have to be complicated. You can use the Bank of America® Business Advantage Travel Rewards World Mastercard® Credit Card to maximize every business expense with rewards for future travel.

Here’s how this card’s unlimited 1.5x points on every purchase — combined with no annual fee, a 0% intro APR, and more — can help you score major savings on your next business trip.

  • Annual fee

    $0

  • Welcome offer

Earn 30,000 online bonus points after you spend at least $3,000 in the first 90 days, which can be redeemed for a $300 statement credit towards travel or dining purchases

  • Introductory APR

0% intro APR on purchases for the first 9 billing cycles (variable 17.24% – 27.24% APR after that)

  • Purchase APR

    17.24% – 27.24% variable

  • Benefits

    • Earn 75% more points on every purchase if you have a business checking account with Bank of America and qualify for Preferred Rewards for Business Platinum Honors tier
    • No international transaction fees

This card’s biggest draw for small business owners is the potential rewards for business spending. Other benefits are minimal, but there are a few that you should be aware of so you can get the best value.

As a new cardholder, you can benefit from an introductory 0% APR on new purchases for the first nine billing cycles after account opening (17.24%-27.24% variable APR after that). That’s a great way to save on interest payments if you’re looking to make a big purchase for your business and want some extra time to pay it off.

You can also benefit from some added travel protections, including travel accident insurance, lost luggage reimbursement, and trip cancellation and delay coverage.

Earning rewards with this card is simple: Every purchase you make automatically earns 1.5x points per dollar. Points are unlimited, so there’s no cap on the 1.5x rewards rate, and they won’t expire as long as your account is open.

Let’s say your business expenses total around $5,000 per month, or about $60,000 per year. If you can put all of those costs on your Business Advantage Travel Rewards card, you’ll gain a total of 90,000 points each calendar year.

In addition to the standard 1.5x rewards, you’ll also earn 3x rewards when you make purchases through the Bank of America Travel Center. If you book your business travel through the portal, this boost can add a significant number of points to your annual total.

Using the same example as above, perhaps you travel for business only a few times each year and spend an additional $5,000 with the Travel Center, in addition to your $60,000 annual expenditure. You could earn an extra 15,000 points on top of the 90,000 you’ll get for non-travel spending, for an annual total of 105,000 points.

As a new cardholder, don’t miss the extra points you’ll gain from this card’s welcome bonus offer.

You can earn 30,000 bonus points when you spend at least $3,000 within the first 90 days of account opening — equal to around $1,000 per month for the first three months. Securing this welcome bonus can add up to $300 in extra value as a first-year cardholder.

Like other Bank of America credit cards, you can increase your rewards earnings with the Business Advantage Travel Rewards card if you’re an existing Bank of America customer with a qualifying balance.

You’ll be eligible for Preferred Rewards for Business if you have an active Bank of America business checking account and you have a qualifying combined balance across your Bank of America business deposit accounts and Merrill business investment accounts. The specific boost you’ll get depends on your Preferred Rewards for Business tier:

  • Gold: 25% bonus rewards (1.87 points per $1)

  • Platinum: 50% bonus rewards (2.25 points per $1)

  • Platinum Honors: 75% bonus rewards (2.62 points per $1)

Say you qualify for the highest Platinum Honors tier with a combined daily balance across your eligible Bank of America and Merrill accounts of over $100,000. Using the same annual spending example as above, the extra 75% bonus you’ll get on your spending will increase your annual points from 105,000 to 183,450 (157,200 on regular spending and 26,250 on Travel Center bookings).

When you’re ready to redeem your Business Advantage Travel Rewards points, you can cash them in for statement credits toward travel or dining purchases. That includes airlines, hotels, rental car companies, parking lots, tolls, tourist attractions, restaurants, bars, fast food restaurants, and more.

You can also redeem points for future business travel when you book through the Bank of America Travel Center. Redemptions start at 2,500 points (equal to $25).

You’ll get the best value from a Bank of America Business Advantage Travel Rewards card if you’re a small business owner and you want to earn rewards for business travel without paying an annual fee.

This card may be an ideal option if your business spending is spread across different categories, and you travel only a few times per year. You’ll earn great rewards without the restriction of common business credit card categories, but you can also maximize travel when you need to take a business trip by redeeming points toward travel purchases or earning 3x points when you book travel through the Bank of America Travel Center.

If you like this card’s flat rewards and no annual fee, but don’t travel for business, consider flat cash-back credit card options that might offer more flexibility when you’re ready to redeem rewards.

On the other hand, if you travel very often and want to maximize your airfare and hotels, you might find more value from a different rewards card with boosted points across travel categories and more annual travel benefits, even if it comes with an annual fee.

Like any Bank of America credit card, don’t forget to account for the extra value you can gain as an existing customer. If your Bank of America business deposit accounts and Merrill business investment accounts qualify you for Preferred Rewards, this card can give you even more back in annual rewards.

  • No annual fee: You won’t pay any annual fee to own the Business Advantage Travel Rewards card.

  • Unlimited flat rewards: This card earns a flat 1.5x points on every purchase you make. But you can also get a solid boost of 3x total points when you book travel through the Bank of America Travel Center.

  • Intro 0% APR offer: You can take advantage of the 0% APR for new purchases for the first nine billing cycles after you open your account, though the card’s ongoing APR kicks in for any remaining balance when the intro period ends.

  • Not as much earning opportunity as some other cards: Flat rewards can be a great option if your business spending varies or doesn’t fit into common rewards categories. But other business cards may offer greater potential rewards across specific categories, which could bring in more annual value for your business spending.

  • No balance transfer 0% APR: This card’s 0% APR applies only to new purchases, not balance transfers. If you have an existing debt balance you want to pay off, look for balance transfer credit cards that may be a better fit for your needs.

  • Lacks benefits of other travel cards: Travel cards often come with added benefits like airport lounge access, annual travel credits, and fee credits for TSA PreCheck or Global Entry. If you’re looking for these valuable annual benefits, consider other travel credit cards for business.

This Bank of America card is part of the Mastercard network, so you can use it anywhere Mastercard is accepted across the globe.

The Business Advantage Travel Rewards card also has no foreign transaction fees, so it’s a solid choice to bring on international business trips. Other cards may charge up to 3% in fees on top of any purchases you make abroad. If you travel internationally relatively often, you can save a large sum without these added fees over time.

  • Online or mobile app. Log into your Bank of America account from your web browser or mobile app. You can also set up automatic payments online.
